Christmas day was a busy but fun day. We woke up and opened our presents from Santa (Skylee must have been really good because Santa spoiled her), then had breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa Boudreau, then went to Christmas lunch, then went to visit Great Grandpa Barker, then went to Grandma and Grandpa Sodja's house. So much running around but Skylee had a very fun day, and loved opening all of her presents. Some of Skylee's highlight presents...a kitchen set, a kids Dyson vacuume (yes a Dyson), TMX Elmo, her new baby (cabbage patch doll) and her U of U football. By the end of the day we were all exhausted. I can't believe that another Christmas has come and gone!

Zoo Lights
We went to see the Christmas lights at the Zoo. This is the first year that they have done the "Zoo Lights" and it was pretty neat. It was REALLY cold (around 20 degrees) but we still had fun. Skylee really loves Christmas lights so she had a blast. There weren't many animals out but we saw a few...they were mostly sleeping though. We did see a "headless" turkey though. I guess the Turkeys sleep with their heads tucked under their wings to keep warm. It looks pretty bizarre!

Fun in the Snow
We got to go tubing at Soldier Hollow for Justyn's work Christmas Party. Justyn was the only one who actually went down the hill (Skylee was too young and I was too pregnant) but Skylee and I had fun playing in the snow. It was her first real snow experience and she thought it was pretty neat. She took to it right away and loved playing with snowballs and walking in it. She also has a pretty awesome snowboard stance as you can see in a couple of the pictures. It came natural to her...I didn't tell her to stand like that she just started doing it. I'm excited to get her boarding next year :) I think her favorite part was being pulled around in the tube. Justyn got her going pretty fast and she would squeal and yell and laugh.

Merry Christmas!
Skylee loves our "big twee" so I thought it would be fitting to get her picture by it. She actually is really good about not playing with the ornaments or the presents (thankfully). She always wants the tree on though...if it's off she'll point at it and say on until we turn it on.

Scared of Santa...But loved Frosty
We had our Ward Christmas Party this week, which was pretty fun. We ate and then Santa and Frosty came, which the kids loved...or I guess I should say most of the kids loved. Skylee was really excited when Santa walked in the door...waving and yelling "Hi Santa". She was also really excited while we were waiting in line to sit on Santa's lap. However, when it was our turn she wouldn't let go of me and started screaming (which everyone thought was pretty funny considering who was in the big red suit). So Santa gave her her toy, which made her stop crying. A while later after all the other kids had seen Santa, we tried again. She gave Frosty a big hug and kiss and then sat on my lap by Santa to get our picture taken. The funny thing is, when we got home she wanted more Santa. I guess from a distance he's pretty cool but up close he is scary.

Santa & Frosty
Skylee and Jett got to meet Santa and Frosty the Snowman the other night.
They were out walking up and down Jett's grandma's neighborhood handing out candycanes. Skylee and Jett were both a little afraid of them at first, but really warmed up to them by the end of the night. When we got home Skylee wanted more Santa.
(Santa is Justyn and Frosty is Jett's dad, Tyler. They rented the costumes for our Ward Christmas party and thought it would be fun to visit families with kids and hand out candy canes. Jett's Grandma's street is a "Christmas Street" so there were lots of cars driving up and down it...the perfect place for Santa and Frosty. It was a fun night and good for Skylee and Jett to get used to Santa (and Frosty).

Staying Warm
Skylee & Jett really liked walking around outside with Santa and Frosty. They were both all bundled up so despite the cold temperatures, they stayed nice and warm. They both loved looking at all of the Christmas lights...and pushing the stroller.
