Mothers Day was such a fun day! Not only do I have 2 beautiful kids (which is still strange to say), we also got to spend the day with my mom and dad, Justyn's mom and dad, and Haylee & Chris. They all came to our house for our annual Mother's Day BBQ. The weather was great and the food was good. What a great day!

What a Good Big Sister
Skylee is so excited to be a big sister...she tells me everyday "I'm a big sister now"...it's cute! She's adjusting better and better every day...but still thinks Kaisyn needs non-stop hugs and kisses, which is really annoying when he is sleeping. She loves him so much!

A New Big Sister
Skylee is a proud, new big sister now. She loves baby Kaisyn so much (sometimes too much) but overall is doing pretty good with him. She is very soft and gentle with him, but sometimes gets jealous and acts out by crying and throwing tantrums over nothing. But, I think that is expected...it is a big change in her life. I'm just glad that she sleeps through all of the middle of the night feedings :)

1 Week Old...Already!
I can't believe that Kaisyn is a week old already. Time has flown since we brought him home. He is such a good baby so far...very mellow and not fussy. He is already trying to hold his head up, and he is awake more during the day...which is fine because he usually just lays there looking around. Plus I love seeing his big blue eyes. He is also doing really good at night...sleeping 3-4 hours at a time, which is awesome for mommy and daddy! I hope this trend continues! Skylee is doing better with him too. At first I think she was a little jealous and was acting out and being pretty naughty. Now she is pretty good, but just won't leave him alone. She constantly wants to be hugging, kissing, and touching him...which gets annoying sometimes but at least she is gentle with him.

Coming Home
Kaisyn is such a good baby so far...just eats, poops, and sleeps...he hardly fusses except when he is hungry. He is on track to being an "easy" baby just like Skylee and I am thankful for that. Skylee is excited about him finally being here and is very soft and cute with him...but won't leave him alone yet. She is so interested in everything he does. I think it is kind of strange to her and a big change in her life and she is trying to adjust, which is resulting in her being naughtier than normal, which is really frustrating me but I think once she gets used to having "baby brother" here and all that comes along with that, she will get better...hopefully.

"D-Day"
Well, we made it! Kaisyn is finally here. He arrived at 9:49 am on Friday April 25th via c-section. He weighed in at a whopping 9 pounds 2 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long...a big boy! we are so excited that he is here and that he made it safe. Everything went smooth and we are both doing very well. We love him so much! (and I'm excited to be skinny again just in time for summer...yay!)

Outside Fun
Now that it is getting warm outside, Skylee really loves to be out-doors. The other day we were out washing cars and she rode her bike and 4-wheeler for almost 2 hours! She has finally figured out the pedaling and steering (which is nice for me because she doesn't need constant help anymore) so she loves to ride now. She was pretty exhausted that night, which was great for bed time!

New Boots
Skylee found my boots in my closet and decided she wanted to wear them. She was so excited that she was wearing "mommy's boots" that she didn't want to take them off. She walked around in them for about 15 minutes laughing and saying "silly Skylee" the whole time.

Accidents Happen
On the ride home from my parent's house on Easter night, Skylee started yelling that she pee'd and needed a new diaper...which she normally doesn't do. So we decided that maybe it was an emergency so we pulled over and sure enough, she was soaked! So we changed her diaper in the back of the X5 and then headed home. The bad thing was we didn't have a change of clothes for her so she had to ride home pretty much naked...all she had on was her diaper. She thought it was funny and said that she looked silly. I'm glad she was a good sport about it because we were still about 30 minutes from home.
