Only 2 Weeks Apart?

Our good neighbor friends had a baby boy 2 weeks after Kaisyn was born. He weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces...exactly 2 pounds lighter than Kaisyn, but he looks so TINY compared to him. Kaisyn looks like he is 2 months older than him, not 2 weeks older...it's pretty funny.

1 Month Old

I can't believe that it has been a month already! Kaisyn (and mom) are both doing great. He eats a ton and is getting so big. He's already growing out of his 0-3 month clothes because he is so long and his chest and belly are getting so thick. It's amazing how different he is from Skylee. She was so little and petite...he is definitely taking after his daddy...so cute! He doesn't look like a newborn anymore, and is awake and alert quite a bit during the day now. His neck is getting strong and he is able to hold his head up for a short period of
time...although he looks a little bit like a bobble head when he does it. He's starting to make cute little baby noises (Justyn nick named him Kai Bear because he "growls" a lot...especially when he is hungry), and if you put a toy in his hand he will hold it. He loves to look at mommy and daddy, and watch his mobiles. He is still sleeping good at night...thank goodness! He goes about 4 hours...and if we are lucky, he'll go an occasional 5. And the nice thing is, he goes right back to bed after he eats with no fussing...which means mommy gets to go right back to bed...yay!

Fun in the Sun!

Since the weather has been way too hot...in the 90's already...we decided to get the little swimming pool out for Skylee and her friend Jett to swim in. Then Justyn had the great idea of putting the slippery slide in the pool...which was a huge hit. The kids had a blast!! They swam, splashed, and played for almost 2 hours. They were pooped after...which was great for bed time!

Just Like Mommy!

I walked in the room and found Skylee "feeding" her bear. She was so proud that she was doing it "like mommy". I laughed really hard.

2 Weeks Old

Wow! I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks...how time flies! Kaisyn is doing so good. He sleeps 3-4 hours at a time during the night, which means mommy and daddy are actually getting some sleep...Yay! He now weighs 10 pounds 10 ounces (90 percentile) and is 22 1/2 inches long (91 percentile). He is awake more during the day and loves to just lay there and look at things. He eats more often during the day...I think because he is awake more, but I would much rather feed him more during the day and have him sleep more at night so hopefully this trend continues. He's getting strong...already trying to hold his head up and if he's holding onto your fingers, he will try to pull himself up. It's so fun to see how he changes every day...and I love his big blue eyes! I hope they don't change color.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mothers Day was such a fun day! Not only do I have 2 beautiful kids (which is still strange to say), we also got to spend the day with my mom and dad, Justyn's mom and dad, and Haylee & Chris. They all came to our house for our annual Mother's Day BBQ. The weather was great and the food was good. What a great day!

What a Good Big Sister

Skylee is so excited to be a big sister...she tells me everyday "I'm a big sister now"...it's cute! She's adjusting better and better every day...but still thinks Kaisyn needs non-stop hugs and kisses, which is really annoying when he is sleeping. She loves him so much!

A New Big Sister

Skylee is a proud, new big sister now. She loves baby Kaisyn so much (sometimes too much) but overall is doing pretty good with him. She is very soft and gentle with him, but sometimes gets jealous and acts out by crying and throwing tantrums over nothing. But, I think that is expected...it is a big change in her life. I'm just glad that she sleeps through all of the middle of the night feedings :)

A Cute Pose

Kaisyn fell asleep in this cute pose today so I had to take a picture!

1 Week Old...Already!

I can't believe that Kaisyn is a week old already. Time has flown since we brought him home. He is such a good baby so far...very mellow and not fussy. He is already trying to hold his head up, and he is awake more during the day...which is fine because he usually just lays there looking around. Plus I love seeing his big blue eyes. He is also doing really good at night...sleeping 3-4 hours at a time, which is awesome for mommy and daddy! I hope this trend continues! Skylee is doing better with him too. At first I think she was a little jealous and was acting out and being pretty naughty. Now she is pretty good, but just won't leave him alone. She constantly wants to be hugging, kissing, and touching him...which gets annoying sometimes but at least she is gentle with him.
