Skylee's new Smile

Friday night we went to the Syracuse High football game with some friends and had quite a traumatic experience with Skylee. She was climbing on one of the metal fences that borders the track (even though mommy and daddy asked her about 100 times not to climb on the fence) and slipped and smashed her face on the bar. There was so much blood, and she was freaking out so bad that it was hard to see what exactly was going on. We took her over to the paramedics that were on-site and had them look in her mouth and they determined that her tooth was so loose that it needed to be pulled out. So Skylee ended up with a missing front tooth, a chipped front tooth, another loose tooth and VERY sore gums. She actually hit the fence so hard that there were metal shavings in her mouth! Anyway, she actually handled it pretty well after we got her calmed down, cleaned up, and got some pain medicine in her. She slept through the night that night and barely complained the next day. Her main problem is eating, which is kind of hard. We are taking her to a dentist this week to make sure all is well and that there is no major damage in her mouth. It was so scary to see that much blood coming from my baby girl :( I'm just thankful for all of our friends who were there to help and for the paramedics that helped calm everyone down...and that it wasn't worse than it was. I'm just kind of sad that Skylee will have a hole in her mouth for like 3 or 4 years until her adult teeth start to come in. I miss her cute "baby teeth" smile :(
